The draw for the Dakota-Saskatchewan Open Shooting Dog Championship will be held at 7:30 pm Central time at the Wolf's Den Bar in Kensal, ND. The running order will be placed on this site later that evening and then the Calcutta can begin again. Region 14 Amatuer Shooting Dog CH

The Region 14 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship starts today officially kicking off the 2009-2010 field trial season. They had the drawing last night night and drew 65 dogs. This large field has caused the Montana Open Shooting Dog Championship starting date to be pushed back one day.

Trial is really coming up fast.

Well the harvest is running late in the Kensal, ND area. But I think the small grains will come out in time for the start of the Championship, which is only 18 days away. Many of the trainers will be heading to the Montana Championship in 7 days from today and then the season will really be kicked off. WOW!!!

2009 Championship Plans are coming together.

Well the start date is a little over 7 months away but things are coming together. Judges for this years renewal will be Doug Meyer of Tonganoxie, Kansas and Jim Michaletz of Goodman, MO. Doug will also be reporting this years championship.

The trial will start on Sept 5th, 2009 and will again be run over the game filled grounds near Kensal, ND. We are having a tough winter here in ND but I am seeing lots of sharptails, huns and pheasants.

The Wolf Den Bar and Vining Oil Company have signed on as sponsors for this years trial. There will be 100.00 day money awarded to the top performer each day of the trial.
