The Dakota-Saskatchewan Open Shooting Dog Championship was originally called the Saskatchewan Open Shooting Dog Championship. In 1984 it was changed to the Dakota-Saskatchewan Open Shooting Dog Championship. Here is a list of the winners since the change was made.

2008 Dakota-Sas. Open Shooting Dog Championship

A new development has happend in the last week. We are going to host the Dakota-Sask. Open Shooting Dog Championship here at the farm near Kensal ND. This is a wild bird horseback trial to be run on sharptails, pheasants and huns. This trial has quite a bit of history and has been run for decades on wild birds first in Sask. then to Towner, ND then for a long time near Flasher, ND then for the past few years near Timberlake, SD. We are excited about keeping the flame going here near Kensal.

The trial will start on Sat. Sept 6th and run to conclusion. Judges for this years renewal are Rich Boumeester and L.J. Lundstrom both from MN. For any additional informationcontact Bill Holtan at 218-349-1777.
